On June 7-8, the National Sports Center Velodrome will host Olympic, National and Professional champions as part of the Great River Energy Bicycle Festival's inaugural MN Fixed Gear Classic.
With one gear and no brakes, pros and Olympians alike will compete in no-holds-barred races providing a thrilling preview to the Olympic competition in Beijing.
Track racing is an outstanding spectator sport with Velodrome events regularly topping 200 spectators. During each event, cyclists are driven by the clappers and cheers of fans that attend to see the exciting Velodrome action.
Come be a part of this unique sport that has been a part of Minnesota history since Minneapolis’ John S. Johnson broke the 2-minute mile barrier in 1892.
